WHO I SUPERVISE
I provide clinical supervision for social workers and helping professionals whose work involves alcohol and other drug (AOD) concerns:
Early-career social workers and practitioners looking to build confidence in their practice.
Practitioners supporting clients where AOD use is part of the picture, even when it is not the primary reason for seeking support.
AOD practitioners working in harm reduction, treatment and family support settings.
Clinicians seeking support with uncertain, complex or unwieldy aspects of the work.
MY APPROACH
My supervision style is direct, practical, collaborative and grounded in curiosity rather than judgement. I aim to create a space where it is safe to be honest about uncertainty, mistakes and the parts of practice that feel messy.
My background in social work and alcohol and other drugs has taught me to think beyond the presenting issue. I consider the broader context of people's lives and the factors that often intersect with substance use, including mental health, trauma, identity, family violence, parenting, housing and involvement with the justice system. My approach is person-centred and affirming, with particular experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and practitioners working in dynamic practice contexts.
Supervision may focus on areas such as engagement challenges, case formulation, risk assessment, ethical decision-making, advocacy, navigating service systems and making sense of situations that feel complex or uncertain. My aim is to balance reflective practice with practical application, helping practitioners identify meaningful next steps.

MY EXPERIENCE
My professional background includes counselling, case management, care coordination, risk assessment, harm reduction, AOD treatment and family-inclusive practice.
This breadth of experience allows me to support practitioners across both therapeutic and systems-focused aspects of the work.

Reduced fees:
I recognise that supervision is a significant expense, particularly for early-career practitioners and those funding supervision privately. I offer reduced rates where cost would otherwise be a barrier. Please get in touch to discuss your situation.
